Color Play Friday: Starburst {Berry & Brown Color Palette and Fabric Bundle}

Candy isn't so much my thing, usually (I prefer baked goods), but the inspiration image for this week's Color Play Friday is delicious!  This is a big week that includes a giveaway opportunity and the most participants ever, so be sure to keep reading. I hope this palette and fabric bundle for Color Play Friday hosted by Trina (In An Otter Life) and Lorinda (Laurel, Poppy & Pine) will inspire you!

For more information on Color Play Friday, visit Lorinda or Trina for the guidelines and further information, or to sign up for the #ColorPlayFriday newsletter - you are welcome to join in!

The Image & Colors:
I love the table  and bowl this bunch of Starburst are collected in and sitting on.  My oldest said I didn't pick good colors this week, and I admit to having a difficult time finding exactly what I thought I was looking for color-wise, but I am happy with the result.  I kept being surprised as I collected colors that more greys were showing up than browns and I can't wait to see everyone else's choices because this image is filled with such a variety!   I really wanted to pull a blueish color from the bowl, and a brown from the table, to go along with some of the berry colors from the candies.  In the end, I came up with this collection.  I did have seven selections that I'd narrowed down to, but you couldn't see the fabrics well enough, so I reduced to six.

The Fabrics {and Giveaway}:
This week Stash Fabrics is sponsoring a GIVEAWAY at each of  Trina's and Lorinda's blogs.  One person will win Trina's bundle and one person will win the bundle created by Lorinda.   You can enter by visiting their posts.  You can also purchase their bundles at Stash Fabrics.  {links to buy: Lorinda's Bundle   Trina's Bundle  Both bundles together}

Since Stash Fabrics is sponsoring the giveaway, I chose all my fabrics for this week from their site.

I love that two fabrics I selected feature a hint of metallic, which reflect the iridescence of the bowl.

  1. Great job! Adding in the metallic to represent the iridescence of the bowl was a great idea!

    1. Yes, one of the liabilities of #colorplayfriday is the temptation to spend! At least it is a thought through purchase that coordinates! I've thought it would be fun to do a follow-up some time with a "What I made from a Color Play Friday."

    1. Thank you. I always seem to go for the more pastel or muted tones. That's why the NYC week was such a challenge (but fun) for me!

  6. Your palette looks so soft and spring-like. In the pretend kitchen I'm dreaming up in my head, this would be the perfect combination for the spring time theme! I love it!
